A theatrical engagement in a class of its own is in the offing for the Balthasar Neumann Choir in September:
The choir, made up of soloists, will interpret works of contemporary music under the stage direction of Sebastian Baumgarten and the musical direction of Max Renne in Berlin’s Hebbel-Theater Hebbel am Ufer.
The choristers appear soloistically as individuals, yet as a choir also depict a collective that has both group-dynamic as well as commentarial or directive functions, like in ancient drama.
