MASTERCLASSES IN HAVANA
Since 2017, the Cuban-European Youth Academy has been offering students and young musicians masterclasses in Havana. These masterclasses are open to all musicians. They form the basis of the Academy’s work. In individual tutorials young Cuban musicians are introduced to the ideas behind the Balthasar Neumann Choir and Ensemble and invited to examine the interplay between the different arts and the historical and socio-cultural background of each and every composer. Works of classical European music are examined with reference to the latest musicological insights.
The masterclasses are held at regular intervals in the Music Faculty of the Instituto Superior de Arte (ISA) and the Lyceum Mozartiano de la Habana.
Teaching Staff
The professors and lecturers of the Academy Balthasar Neumann are all specialists on their respective instruments and are qualified to teach classical works of European music within a historical context and in terms of their original sound.
Participants
Students attending the Instituto Superior de Arte in Havana and all young musicians in Cuba are entitled to take part in these masterclasses.
