SINGERS’ ACADEMY

For many years, the Balthasar Neumann Academy has offered a wide range of courses for music students and young professionals, but so far exclusively for instrumentalists. In 2022, a singers’ academy for young professional singers will be offered for the first time. This will be led by Lionel Sow (Choir Director, Chœur de l’Orchestre de Paris), Jakob Pilgram (Tenor Balthasar Neumann Choir) and Detlef Bratschke (Choir Director, Balthasar Neumann Choir). The Festspielhaus Baden-Baden and the Château de Fontainebleau are cooperation partners of the Singers’ Academy, which is funded within the framework of the “Young Perspectives” programme of the State of Baden-Württemberg.

“We founded the Singers’ Academy of the Balthasar Neumann Ensemble newly and in an effort to close the gap between the purely soloistic training of many colleges and the specific requirements of ensemble and choral singing. I am very pleased that our Singers’ Academy will take place as a joint German-French project in Baden-Baden and Fontainebleau.” THOMAS HENGELBROCK
