"On the Path of the Rose"

Our creative project for singing enthusiasts in cooperation with LIFE HAMBURG

A Creative Journey in the Footsteps of Schumann’s "Der Rose Pilgerfahrt"

Robert Schumann’s romantic fairy-tale idyll "Der Rose Pilgerfahrt" tells a story of new beginnings, transformation, and the search for one’s own place in the world. Inspired by these themes, we are embarking on a shared creative journey and invite enthusiastic amateur singers with choral experience and the ability to read music to join us.

Over the course of three consecutive project days, participants will have the opportunity to rediscover the themes of Romanticism through singing, hiking, and creative work, as well as through personal exchange – and to find their own artistic means of expression.

The project days will be led by Andreas Küppers (conductor, music educator, teacher, and member of our Balthasar Neumann Orchestra) and Serafima Bresler (artist, researcher, and educator). As the project is embedded within two projects of our Balthasar Neumann Choir, participants will have the opportunity to attend both rehearsals and concerts during the project days, engage with the singers, and share the stage with the professionals in a joint singing experience.

Participation in all three consecutive project days is only possible with prior registration.
